Great questions. To sand we recommend waiting 24 hours. To machine it we advise waiting 5 days for it to develop its full mechanical strength. To color it you would need to dispense it in to a mixing cup, add an epoxy compatible colorant, and then apply it. Not the best product if your looking to add color. Each tube comes with 2 static mixers. You can certainly purchase more. You can also dispense it in to a cup without the mixer and mix it by hand but then applying it would not be as easy.
