A lot of customers will use a foam brush and apply epoxy to the live edge to break the surface tension around then pour the flood coat immediately after. The epoxy will flow evenly across the edge, you can then warm the live edge with your heat gun slightly to smooth out any heavy flows before the epoxy cures. If you notice any sagging you can typically warm the area up by waving the heat gun until the ripple dissolves. Be mindful not to superheat the epoxy, you have roughly 30-35 mins to smooth the edges it's typically the last step after you've popped the bubbles and the flood coat self-leveled.
